Cardinal Verlengo

Cardinal Verlengo's first single 'Book of the Year' came out at the beginning of July 2026.The sound of Verlengo is a 60s garagey / indie / jangle that has been variously described as Edwyn Collins joins The Doors, Lou Reed's take on The Byrds, or what Johnny Cash might have sounded like if he was in Belle and Sebastian.Stay tuned for future releases, more singles and an album is due later this year.Cardinal Verlengo has been an aficionado of British indie / alternative bands since reading the NME as a young curate accompanying the 1982 Papal Visit. Now he's releasing his own music with the help of his altar-ego, Liverpool born, Manchester based musician and songwriter Paul Grayston.
